What Stokey is

Stokey is a card game. Solo play and Play the Computer run entirely on your device — no data ever leaves your phone for those modes. Online multiplayer talks to our server so you can play in real time with other people; the sections below describe exactly what that involves.

What we collect

• Anonymous device ID — a random identifier generated on your device the first time you open online play. It is not your device's advertising ID (IDFA/AAID) and is not linked to your name, email, or any other account. We use it to keep your seat at a table across reconnects.
• Display name and table names — text you choose yourself, shown to other players in the lobby and at the table. Display names are unique per device; pick something you're fine with strangers seeing.
• Match data — for online games only, moves and final scores are stored on our server (tied to your anonymous device ID) so the game can be replayed on reconnect and so results are trustworthy for everyone at the table.
• Reports — if you report another player, we store who reported whom, the reason given, and when, so we can review it and act (see Moderation below).
• Age-range signal — before letting you into online multiplayer, the app asks your device's operating system (Apple's or Google's own age-signal APIs) whether you've declared an age under 18. This check happens on your device and the result (allowed or not) is used locally to show or hide the online multiplayer option — we never receive your birthdate, your declared age range, or any other detail from it, and nothing about it is sent to or stored on our server.

What we don't do

We don't use advertising SDKs, analytics/tracking SDKs, or any third-party data sharing. We don't sell your data to anyone. There are no ads and no in-app purchases in Stokey.

Table invites

Emailing a table invite opens your own device's mail app with the message pre-filled — the invite is sent from your own email address, by you. Our server never sees or stores the recipient's email address.

Moderation

Display names and table names are checked against a basic filter before they're accepted, and you can report another player's name from the table roster. We review reports and may rename, mute, or ban an offending device.

Data retention & deletion

Match data and reports are kept only as long as needed to run and moderate the game. To request deletion of everything tied to your device (display name, device record, and match history), email us at the address below with the display name you used — we'll delete it within 30 days.

Children

Stokey is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
